PanIO Systems today released a major update to its DocShield document management and protection software for Windows. DocShield version 2.0 not only brings lots of new enterprise-class features, but is now free for personal, non-commercial use. Company founder and spokesman, Jorge Pando commented on this new strategy: "We want to broaden the reach of DocShield. We believe that as more people see the benefits of DocShield with their personal documents, they will naturally want to put this kind of protection to work at the office". DocShield 2.0 boasts higher levels of compression, password protection, a USB key utility, and remote server storage through the Internet File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
