Full press release : Macroworx is a developer of software utilities for today’s business and home users. Designing and developing programs that can truly assist people in their everyday tasks at work and at play. We also strive to make sure our programs are ones of quality and durability. Although Macroworx does not have an extremely large stable of products, software for the future is constantly being developed. Our current goal would be to see Filing Cabinets become the ICQ or Norton Antivirus of the desktop management genre.
Filing Cabinets is an extremely easy to use and helpful desktop management and program launcher for all the current Windows™ platforms (95/98/NT4+/2000/ME/XP).
Filing Cabinets has many different features with at least one being useful to nearly every computer user. These features include:
• Drag and drop operation to add: Folders, programs, Associated files (word documents, text files etc) and links to websites. Links can also be created manually (by typing in details) or from shortcuts (found in the Windows start bar). From Windows 98 (or 95 with IE4) you can drag shortcuts directly from your Windows Startbar.
• Filing Cabinets always stays on top of all programs (but in an unobtrusive way) so that you can run applications or open files even with your background cluttered by open folders or running programs.
• Completely customise your cabinets (screen position, colours, opening times, closing times, click to open, or password protect).
• You can also use the program to group programs together for easy access (for example: a cabinet can contain all Internet related programs and another all graphics programs etc)
• Create up to 16 shortcuts in your windows toolbox (the indented section that usually contains the time) that are directly related to a Filing Cabinet button. This means that it is a shortcut to any of your programs, folders, files or Internet sites.
• The ability to assign shortcut combinations to your buttons (including the left Windows key (on your keyboard). Note: this does not override set windows shortcuts like winkey-E (explorer), winkey-R (Run dialog) etc.
Filing Cabinets truly makes managing your desktop and collating files, programs, Internet links for easy access a dream.

MacroWorx Filing Cabinets is an excellent program that enables you to organise programs and files the way you think they should be. All of your most-used programs and files can be put into a single location. Instead of crowding the desktop with dozens of icons, you can create up to 16 cabinets that stay out of the way until you need them. When you want to open a cabinet, simply put the cursor over it. You can also make the cabinets "sticky" so that you have to click to open them. Each cabinet can be password protected to prevent other users from getting into them. Editing a cabinet is as easy as right-clicking on the cabinet and adding or deleting a button. A separate password can be set to limit who can edit the cabinets. The cabinets can be easily moved anywhere on the left or right side of the screen.

Are you tired of searching through start menu and explorer for your programs? Then this 'Filing Cabinet' will help you organise them quickly and easily.
Filing Cabinets offers you sliding bars that slides open on a mouse-over and contains a group of programs that you define. It then slides closed when the mouse is taken off. Each bar can be moved individually to your preference, and the bars differentiate by colour so that you can associate a particular colour with a group of programs.
Filing Cabinets is fully customizable from the number of programs, to the colour of the bar, to the contents of the captions. It may also take the place of the Windows Shell.

Filing Cabinets is a fantastic replacement for your Start Menu. It is much easier to navigate and seems to respond a lot faster as well! The program places 'filing cabinets' onto the right side of your desktop which, when not open, show themselves as tiny rectangles. By moving your mouse over them, they quickly pop open allowing you access to the programs you have placed inside! There are a number of configuration options to allow you to customise your filing cabinets and the setup is easy to understand and use. All in all, this program is a fantastic replacement for the start menu and you will soon find using it becomes second nature. This is a highly recommended piece of software! |
