Архиватор с криптографией на открытых ключах (аналогично PGP,ElGamal).
Использует более надежные методы шифрования и имеет большую степень
сжатия по сравнению с широко распространенными архиваторами (в 1,5-2 раза
лучше чем у arj, pkzip, rar).
В отличие от PGP, ECBackup использует эллиптические кривые и 128-битное
шифрование AES (Advanced Encryption Standart). ECBackup может быть запущен
как из командной строки, так и в интерактивном режиме. При длине открытого
ключа в 1900 бит позволяет достичь защиты, эквивалентной использованию PGP
с длиной ключа более 50000 бит. ECBackup может использоваться для защищенного
обмена информацией через Internet, создания резервных копий информации.
